Managing Product Variants in Odoo can be inconsistent depending on the navigation path. When accessing a product variant from the Products menu, the view may not display all the necessary fields. However, accessing the same variant from the Product Variants menu shows a more comprehensive view.

The Standardized Product Variant View module resolves this issue by ensuring that product variant views remain consistent across all navigation paths. Users will see the same detailed product variant form regardless of whether they access it from the Products menu or the Product Variants menu.

Functionality at a Glance:

  1. Unified Product Variant View – Ensures a consistent display of fields for product variants, regardless of navigation path.
  2. Improved User Experience – Eliminates missing fields when opening variants through the Products menu.
  3. Enhances Sales and Inventory Management – Users no longer need to switch navigation paths to view full product variant details.
  4. Seamless Integration with Odoo – Works with Sales, Inventory, and Product modules without additional configuration.
  5. Improved Navigation Logic – Adjusts the Product Variant Action Window to always show the correct views and fields.

Example Use Case:

A sales team needs to modify a product variant before finalizing a quotation.

🔹 Before this module:

  1. Accessing the variant from the Products menu shows a limited view, hiding critical details.
  2. Accessing the same variant from the Product Variants menu shows all necessary fields.

🔹 After installing this module:

  1. The Product Variant View remains the same across both navigation paths.
  2. Sales and inventory managers can access full product variant details instantly, improving efficiency.
