The Activity User Roles and Permissions ensures secure and structured activity management by assigning specific roles and permissions for activity handling. This feature prevents unauthorized actions, like deleting or canceling activities, while providing a clear hierarchy of permissions for different roles.

Key Functionalities:

  1. User Role Permissions:
    • Own Activities:
      • Read, Complete, and Assign: Users can perform these actions on their own activities.
      • Edit and Cancel: Users are now allowed to edit and cancel activities created by themselves.
      • Restrict Deletion: Users cannot delete their own activities.
  2. Admin Role Permissions:
    • Read, Edit, Create: Admins have full control over activity creation and modification.
    • Restricted Delete: Admins cannot delete activities assigned to other users.
  3. Manager Role Permissions:
    • Read, Edit, Create, and Delete: Managers can view, create, modify, and delete any activity within the system.
    • Full Oversight: Managers can cancel or reassign activities as needed, regardless of the assignee.
  4. Restriction Enforcement:
    • Other users are explicitly restricted from deleting or canceling activities that are not assigned to them.
    • Permissions are enforced dynamically based on the user's role in the system.

Benefits:

  • Improved Security: Prevent unauthorized activity deletion or cancellation.
  • Enhanced Workflow: Ensures that users manage only their own activities while Admins and Managers have the tools to oversee and optimize operations.
  • Role-Specific Permissions: Provides clarity and control over activity management based on user roles.
